FIRST Technical Challenge

Robot in One Weekend

Starting in the Fall of 2016, the Robotics Association began participating in an international activity to inspire students competing in the FIRST Technical Challenge. We were given only one weekend to design and build a robot to compete in the challenge, which competing high-schoolers could take cues from through the duration of their 4 month competition season.

For several years now, the Robotics Association has assisted the Mechanical Engineering faculty at Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach Campus with hosting a week-long robotics summer camp for high-school students from around the nation. Students are engaged with the experience of designing, building, and programming an autonomous robot to perform various sensor-based tasks.
